2001 Monster
With the CPS-1700 being retired, being replaced by the ridiculous 1-3-5 there is NO good medium CPS anymore. While the Monster has good points and bad points, I was disappointed. After searching 3 stores I found it! The 2001 Monster goes for about $30.00 I quickly unpacked it at arrival of my house and began playing. I immediately realized that A) The nozzles where very hard to adjust, B) It feels very flimsy around the pump area. I was also disappointed with reservoir capacity, It hold as much as about a CPS-1200, but has a nozzle 3.5x higher! This gun has many admirable features though. It has lots of nozzles, rated at 2.5,4x, 8.5,and a Fan Blast. The firing chamber is fairly large and can go on firing at 2.5x for quite a while. A great feature about this blaster is that the Monster can use a QFD to fill it very very fast, it fills practically instantly! Overall truly a good CPS blaster but NOT a Monster. As the catalog suggest it's a soaker made or little kids who wants Monsters. Pros:Larger Firing chamber 2.5x useful in many occasions. Cons:Nozzles lock bad, small reservoir, pump area feels weak. Rating:6/10
