The CPS-1700 was designed to replace the 1500. Actually there are few or little diffrences except the CPS-1700 has much brighter colors. The CPS-1700 has one firing chamber the one with the little airhole in the middle, the smaller one is just there for display. The CPS-1700 has 2 nozzles rated at 5x an excellent nozzle when you want to extend the weapons payload or just when your low on water. The 10x nozzle really drenches your enemy. A downside is it takes alot of pumps to charge. One nifty trick that cab be done with all CPS is to extend the weapons payload, is to fill the firing chamber then fill the reservoir again. The CPS-1700 is my faviorate super soaker in the world. The gun isn't contructed to well but in can take a few bangs, the weakest part of this gun is probably the pump, it feel flimsy. It has a handle to hold during refills, and a strap that seems to fall off in the middle of a battle. Basically the CPS-1700 can hold its own against any weapon except perhaps the CPS-2000 . Pros:Excellent nozzles,good power, Cons:A bit heavy and one can run out of water if one is trigger happy.Takes alot of pumps. Rating:10/10
